Fashion has found inspiration in multiple creative universes for the development of collections. However, fashion has also been the source of ideas for other industries.

Yes, the automotive industry has – on different occasions – looked to the work of great designers or the essence of different fashion houses to create impressive models.

Automobiles that not only transport from one place to another, but also transport to a reality of fantasy, glamor, and luxury thanks to their aesthetics or innovation. Perhaps they also offer adventure and even an irresistible executive sense.

In other words, design that brings the context of fashion to an automotive reality.

Representative examples

One of the most talked-about cases in recent history takes us back to 2011. Two Italian brands, powerful in their respective sectors, joined forces and generated a media frenzy: Gucci and Fiat.

Named Fiat 500 by Gucci, it was a special edition subcompact where it was possible to find the Gucci emblems. The characteristic red and green stripe, distinctive of the fashion house, was present in different details of the car (both inside and outside).

In addition to the technology and systems that made it a formidable car, the model, of course, captivated fashion lovers.

Another more recent case happened in 2021. American fashion designer Virgil Abloh (1980-2021) had worked on a very interesting project prior to his death. It was a collaboration with the great Mercedes-Benz, a German automobile brand.

Thus, the company decided to launch the result of this fusion in 2021. The result? The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, a stylish all-terrain model characterized by its elegance, but also by its innovative doors and details, as well as a sand and obsidian black color combination that screamed absolute luxury.
