The female vision
Share
In such an important month to commemorate women's struggle for equal rights, today we celebrate the lives and achievements of some female figures who have earned a place beyond the fashion industry.
Coco Chanel
With style and strong proposals, this was her contribution to feminism. Through fashion, this French designer born in 1883, made it clear that women could be the protagonists of a different aesthetic, not to say more free: pieces for active buyers with trousers, knitted sweaters, striped t-shirts and even short haircuts.
Grace Mirabella
Fashion, in addition to clothing, also has its place in the publishing industry. Vogue, one of the most important magazines for decades, had Grace Mirabella as its editor-in-chief in its US edition from 1971 to 1988; she gained worldwide recognition for generating content focused on working, independent, professional women with aspirations different from those established at that time.
Vivienne Westwood
We recently dedicated an entire text to this British designer, but it is impossible not to include her on this list. Her personality and, above all, her way of seeing the world, led her to be remembered in our modern history; she laid part of the foundations of punk, took the catwalks to the streets and, through design, fought for multiple causes such as sustainability and feminism.
