Chanel te lleva a las estrelllas

Chanel takes you to the stars

The new collection from the fashion house brings together gold, diamonds, and gemstones inspired by celestial bodies.

In addition to impressive dresses and runway looks, major design houses have found a series of business opportunities and creative outlets in other sectors.

Chanel, for example, has been doing this for years through high jewelry. In each collection, the French house incorporates elements that connect with its characteristic spirit of luxury.

Indeed, total elegance is expected from a piece of Chanel jewelry, and as proof, a series of pieces promise to take you to the stars:

Reach for the stars is one of the recent collections. Each piece, designed by Chanel's Jewelry Creation Studio, takes shape around three different symbols: the comet, the lion, and wings.

The materials used range from openwork gold to diamonds, including sapphires, rubies, yellow beryls, and garnets.

The Inspiration: an ode to freedom

"If you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent them from growing," said Gabrielle Chanel, better known as Coco Chanel (1883-1971), a haute couture designer and founder of this prestigious brand that dominated the Parisian scene for decades and continues today to be at the top of the global luxury industry.

Under this motto, the brand's creative team has created jewels full of details, with a perfect balance between the clear tones provided by diamonds and the colorful prominence of stones and gems.

The comet appears in pieces set with diamonds and sublimated by gold lines, while the wings become a surprise element — especially — in highly brilliant necklaces and chokers.

For its part, the lion reaffirms its place as Mademoiselle's favorite animal and emblem of Chanel's high jewelry.
