Who's behind the collections of the biggest brands? Get to know them.
The DNA of a fashion brand is imbued in every garment, campaign, and runway show. But who is primarily responsible for keeping it alive? While various talents contribute to this, the creative director is a vital figure.
Their job is to maintain the essence and identity of the fashion brand in every step it takes, as well as inject innovation. This freshness has allowed brands, especially those in the luxury and high fashion world that inspire so much, to remain relevant throughout the decades.
In their honor, today we're taking a look at some creative directors who have done outstanding work or are in the spotlight for various reasons. Discover them.
Matthieu Blazy
A French brand like Chanel generates buzz with every move it makes. Last year, after several months without a high-profile creative director, it finally broke the news: Belgian designer Matthieu Blazy (formerly with another giant, Bottega Veneta) was taking on the role.
The appointment has, of course, sparked worldwide buzz. Mostly positive, Blazy has been hailed as a promising designer, one of the most prominent of his generation, and on top of that, he's loved and respected by industry icons. Will he be able to provide a creative follow-up to the label headed for so long by the unforgettable Lagerfeld?
Pharrell Williams
The world of celebrity, particularly music, has long been intertwined with fashion. A recent example is Louis Vuitton's choice to sign Pharrell Williams as its men's creative director.
For the past 20 years, this American artist has had an active agenda in the fashion industry. He even collaborated with the same brand in 2004 and 2008. It was in early 2023 that he assumed this important position, which has produced a number of surprises.
He recently presented his Fall/Winter 2025/26 collection at the iconic Louvre Museum in Paris, featuring a series of looks that showcase the contemporary man with all the elegance and comfort that today's customer demands.

Maria Grazia Chiur
She will always be remembered as the first woman to assume the creative direction of Dior, a position she took in 2016 and continues to hold through the first quarter of 2025. However, some claim the designer is in her final stages, as rumors point to a new successor at the helm of the brand.
While that's happening, we can remember that Chiur's time at Dior has witnessed several very special moments, including the brand's presentation in Mexico City to debut its Cruise 2024 collection at the impressive facilities of the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso. The show went worldwide.
