Mugler's most memorable performance of the 90s .
The 1990s were a golden age for international fashion: top models, memorable campaigns, photographers at their best, and brands with undeniable global standing.
This environment facilitated the dissemination of fashion as a cultural and artistic phenomenon, while the industrial sector grew in different markets through globalization. The result? Increasingly homogenized styles and mass communication.
Among these efforts, there was also room for episodes that remain vivid in the collective memory today. Among the most significant was the iconic Thierry Mugler fashion show held in 1995.

The firm, which bears the name of its designer (1948-2022), held the presentation at that time to celebrate its first 20 years of history.
Why is it so unforgettable? Perhaps words would be difficult to describe; that show was as eclectic as it was unique. Never before had anything like it been seen in the highest spheres of fashion, in a city that used to celebrate elegance and now applauded seduction, sensuality, and, of course, the style of a sophisticated designer who never forgot to reaffirm his place as extravagant.
Another media-friendly reason was the presence of women who became supermodels: Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and Claudia Schiffer were some of the names who made up the talent of this show.
The myriad of silhouettes were a coming and going of references, probably from dreams that emerged from their creator: Mugler offered a parade/performance featuring metallic outfits, tiny waists, dresses with plunging necklines or large feathers, characters who, while also wearing satiny pink garments, even looked as futuristic as they were sexual in all latex.

As if that weren't enough, the parade culminated with a performance by singer James Brown, who sang the song "Sex Machine." All of this took place at the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris.
