Moda: guiño al deporte

Fashion: a nod to sport

When big brands go sporty: an inspiration and indicator of big business.

Outdoor culture and the sporting spirit are two trends that seem impossible to stop. On the contrary, they have grown by leaps and bounds year after year. The pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, enjoying nature, and taking care of one's body have pushed the fashion industry to offer specific garments.

Their features? Comfortable for freer movement, designed for extreme conditions, and high style. Furthermore, the sporty trend is no longer exclusive to those with sporting DNA, but also to those who have adopted it as part of their everyday wardrobe.

The truth is that major fashion brands, those that initially focused on high fashion, even haute couture, or even fast fashion, have listened to the market. The list of brands offering sportswear or clothing inspired by this universe is growing ever longer.

The above is an indicator of the interest of a growing market, broad in age range, and willing to make purchases with purpose. If you are an entrepreneur in the fashion sector, have a brand, or are able to sell sportswear, you are targeting highly potential buyers.

And to inspire you, today we're reviewing some examples of international brands that have made the transition from the runway to the courts, mountains, and slopes over time. Discover them!

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2025

This summer's menswear collection, creatively directed by Pharrell Williams, featured pieces that combine the casualness of streetwear with the sophisticated DNA the brand has maintained for years. A clear example is the grass on the runway (perhaps a nod to sports fields?), where shorts, shirts, and even bags that could be luxury footballs were also present.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) x Dior

The quintessential Parisian sports entity went global in early 2023. The reason? Not just for its football exploits, but also for its fashion. Specifically, thanks to Dior. The renowned French brand decided to dress the players off the field with a collection of looks that, while reminiscent of sporting DNA, actually made them stand out from the world thanks to their ultra-elegant tailoring and casual pieces that combined the best of both worlds.

Victoria Beckham x Reebok

Another success story takes us back to 2018. Collaborations between independent designers and major sportswear brands are a successful reality, through co-branding. British designer Victoria Beckham teamed up with the powerful Reebok on several occasions to create capsule collections that included skirts, tights, small bags, and even sneakers. All under the simple and luxurious seal of this luxury brand.
