MARIALUNA: STEPS TO SUCCESS IN INTERMODA
A surprising footwear firm at Intermoda's Designers Corner
With the aim of offering footwear with three specific characteristics (design, comfort and affordable price), Marialuna was born in April 2017.
"The brand began with the desire to make good Mexican footwear that would stand out from what already exists," shares Gabriela Sánchez, its founder.
Marialuna is part of Intermoda and from the Designers Corner Pavilion, surprises with determination.
With the passage of time, Fernanda Caccia joined the project. Her training in marketing strengthened the project that today involves a number of women in all its processes.
“We have a community of loyal customers whom we call Marialuna girls. They are young (not always in age, but in attitude) who like to be innovative in fashion, have a happy lifestyle, work and travel", shares its founder, who also ensures that the firm has begun to attract men who are looking for your boots or sneakers.
With an avant-garde style, small productions and an artisan accent, the firm gathers Mexican materials and if they are not available, they are purchased from companies established in our country.
"We want to be job creators and activate the local economy from our trenches, once we have the inputs, the labor is done in the workshop," he explains.
Although espadrilles are some of its key pieces, Marialuna ventures into multiple styles and the creation of models to satisfy the taste of its clients. Proposals such as jean ankle boots or sneakers are a must for the firm. Undoubtedly, listening to the market has allowed them to remain current.
Your success in Intermoda
Participation in this exhibition since 2018 is key for Marialuna. "It helped us a lot to structure ourselves as a company, it put us in the crosshairs of boutiques and other businesses outside of Guadalajara, although we started as an online store and that has no borders, the fact that they could physically see the product was very beneficial" , share.
Plans for 2021
After the pandemic, the company has made changes to its internal structure and paid attention to the search for new materials as well as sustainable processes. In its design, it will bet on the comfy style and will strengthen its digital scheme. In addition, they recently opened a larger showroom. Congratulations Marialuna!
