Historical and Mexican

A garment that speaks of tradition, love for our country and passion for color.
The construction of national identity, from the perspective of fashion, has often been discussed from different angles and contexts. The truth is that there are garments that, over time, have accompanied the women of our country throughout their lives and also in their memories.
Among them is the rebozo. This piece, as historic as it is national, is a representation of what is acquired without thinking, of what is even inherited and also of what evolves.
That said, we can assure you that most Mexican women have or will have a rebozo in their wardrobe. Why? Well, there are countless reasons. A rebozo is not only a fashion accessory, it is also a multifunctional garment that, while it highlights a look, also serves as a blanket, covers children, protects from the cold and even accompanies the most elegant versions of women at important and distinguished events.
Talking about the rebozo is also talking about Mexican history. The garment has been part of the national panorama for a long time, especially if we take colonization as a starting point; precisely from the mestizaje, that encounter between two worlds, the birth of a new culture and the origin of what we know (and are) today took place.
Its shape, textures and colors (even prints) have changed over the years. Just like the Mexican woman herself, her interests, expressions and what is understood as fashion (from the one that accompanies every day to the one that is worn with a specific objective), the rebozo continues to evolve constantly.
Artists of all expressions, political figures, society women and those who lead the home, we are convinced that the vast majority have worn a rebozo with pride.
