FROM PANAMA TO INTERMODA

The Sousa Pitti brand explored new markets at Fashion Space.

Six years after its launch in Panama, the venture of the brothers Andrea and Diego Sousa recently arrived in Mexico through Intermoda.

With the banner of Panama Fashion Week, his participation in Fashion Space (the first hybrid platform for the fashion industry in Mexico and one of the main creative proposals of this business meeting) dazzled with a contemporary DNA.

“We define the style of the brand as a game between minimalism and modernism. We are inspired by history, art and culture”, they explain.

With pieces that use materials such as cotton, silk and denim, Sousa Pitti has carved out a career with solid proposals such as her 2017 Capsule collection, inspired by the Brazilian designer Zuzu Ángel, who used her pieces as a form of protest against the military dictatorship of her country through embroidery.

"This collection is special for the brand because through it, using patches, we are able to communicate our values ​​of respect, diversity and inclusion, representing our feminist pillars," they say.

The future

In full development of two capsule collections, Sousa Pitti is currently working on its internationalization, as well as strengthening its digital strategies.

Intermoda: A key platform

Sousa Pitti was part of the Intermoda 75 Fashion Space program, an experience that was fruitful for Panamanian designers.

“Intermoda represented our first interaction with the Mexican market. With this approach, we not only achieved exposure and reach in Mexico and Latin America, but also in Panama, further boosting the support of our audience and community in general (...) the presence and organization of the press at the event caught our attention a lot” .
