Aprovechar las horas

Make the most of the hours

In the world of business and companies, time is money.

Organization is essential in the planning and execution of a fashion business. Other closely related aspects are equally important, such as the selection of human capital and, of course, the use of time.

While each of these concepts deserves our full attention, today we will put the second one on the table.

Yes, making the most of your time is vital in each of the processes for your fashion project to be successful. Let's go step by step.

When we talk about leveraging, we are actually emphasizing the importance of focus. Within work teams, it is vital that each of its members has identified the objectives of their position and their department, and thus contribute to the achievement of the general goals that the company has. In other words, the steps that must be taken (and carried out) to generate accurate indicators.

Some of the recommendations we have identified for better time management are:

Hierarchy of importance. What is important? What is urgent? What cannot be postponed? What can wait? These are questions that must be answered. In the best case, each of the activities must be planned and resolved in a timely manner; if the operation is exhausting, consider making a differentiation and… let's get to work!

Generating a work plan. Writing down the objectives to be achieved, as well as the delivery dates, will allow your team to have a clear route that answers what needs to be resolved and when.

Get rid of distractions. Do you have a coworker who talks too much (perhaps more than he should), does the music bother you? Do your cell phone notifications distract others? These are some of the concerns that, we are sure, belong to a long list of distractions that must be controlled. It is important to identify them and stop them for the benefit of operations, of course, giving them time to let off steam (meal time, break time, etc.) is also valid.

Useful tools. From managing an agenda (either digital or physical), to formally requesting meetings with other areas, to assigning specific times for the execution of a task, these are some of the recommendations that, as simple as they may seem, are useful for better time management. Remember, before calling a meeting, consider: can it be resolved through an email or phone call?

Technology for you. Currently, there are also free software, applications and even tutorials on the market that provide timely means for optimizing resources and time within work teams.
