IM Intermoda offers a program of lectures given by experts in the fashion industry, which constitutes an added value to the participant that is free of charge, with topics such as national and international business, marketing, global fashion trends, economics, technology, and commercialization strategies for innovation. On Wednesday the 14th, three out of the nine keynote speeches will be given by renowned speakers Álvaro Rattinger, Miguel Ángel Andreu, and Pablo Román.
“Consumer trends in the fashion industry”
Alvaro Rattinger is a graduate in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and his educational background keeps developing, mainly abroad. In 2002, he launched Merca 2.0 magazine, where he currently serves as Director of Operations. He participates in Radio Formula on the show “Fuego Cruzado”, alongside Eduardo Ruiz, as well as on the show “Barra de opinion” on TV Azteca. He is a certified professor at foreign universities such as the University of Texas in Austin, the University of San Diego and California State University San Marcos. He has been involved in important events such as the National Marketing Conference and Campus Marketing in Mexico City and Luxotica in Miami. Due to his vast experience (over 10 years in advertising and marketing) he has instructed companies such as El Universal, Home Depot, Colgate Palmolive, Liverpool, among others, and he is the author of the book “New Game, New Rules, Cutting-edge Marketing”, which was edited in 2013.
MIGUEL ÁNGEL ANDREU
“New technologies and consumer trends in denim”
He has a Master’s degree in Textiles from North Carolina State University, and has 30 years of experience in the Textile Industry. He started his professional activity by conducting a market research for FAITA, a textile association. From 1987 to 2003 he worked at Akra-Dupont, an Alfa Group enterprise, and was in charge of Commercial Development, Strategic Alliances, and Product Development. He participated in the “room next door” in the negotiations to sign the North American Free Trade Agreement with the U.S. and Canada.
He was in charge of the Alfa Business Unit helping the companies in the Fiber-Textile-Clothing sector to improve their manufacturing and exporting processes. He directed Akra’s-Dupont Textile Development Center, generating new fibers and fabrics. From 2003 to 2008, he was Marketing Manager at Kaltex, and since 2009, he is an independent external consultant working with companies in the Fiber-Textile-Clothing sector all over the Americas. He also technically supports the quality control processes of the apparel worn by employees of government agencies and decentralized organisms.
“Visual Merchandising: the tool for fashion commercialization”
Senior Designer at Merchan/Lab since March 2009, he has over 10 years of experience working in the visual presentation field (VM), as well as in a variety of fields, among which are increasing sales, the consolidation of promotional activities within the store, systems for communication with the client, VM staff training, all from the perspective of fashion. He has been Visual Merchandiser at Merchan/Lab, where he offered consulting services for the management and commercialization of business products, from detailing, planning, and brand positioning through the image portrayed to clients, to the creation of concept “points of sale” for the commercialization of products or services. He also developed in activities such as the Visual Merchandising Department at C&A México from 1999 to 2009, where he worked in the planning and development of C&A Mexico’s points of sale, in the assembly of stores in C&A China (Shanghai 2007) three store-openings, and the management and development of advertising campaigns to promote apparel collections and special deals.
